6. Authentication, Payment and Error-Monitoring Services

Where VaakuOS processes shopper information on behalf of a merchant, the merchant generally determines the purposes for which that shopper information is collected and used, subject to the applicable contractual and legal relationship between the merchant and VaakuOS.

The merchant is responsible for providing shoppers with any notices required by applicable law and obtaining consent where required.

8. Abandoned-Cart Technologies

When a merchant uses VaakuOS abandoned-cart functionality, the VaakuOS script may store information in the shopper's browser to recognise a shopping session or support cart-recovery functionality.

9. Chat Widget

A merchant may install the VaakuOS chat widget on its website.

The widget may use browser storage and related technologies to:

  • maintain the widget's state;

  • support an ongoing chat session;

  • remember relevant preferences;

  • associate conversations with a browser or session; and

  • provide the functionality configured by the merchant.

The information collected through a merchant's chat widget may include personal data where a shopper voluntarily provides information such as their name, email address, phone number or message content.

Where VaakuOS processes such information on behalf of a merchant, the merchant determines the purposes and means of processing subject to the applicable arrangement between the merchant and VaakuOS.

VaakuOS distinguishes between technologies that are necessary for the operation of the Services and optional technologies such as analytics and marketing technologies.

Where applicable law requires consent for an optional technology, VaakuOS will seek consent through the applicable consent or cookie-preference mechanism before using that technology.

Where a cookie-preference mechanism is provided, you may use it to:

  • decline optional technologies;

  • change your preferences; and

  • withdraw previously provided consent.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawfully carried out before the withdrawal.
